Facts & questions
The things you should know before uploading.
Short answers, with the important privacy and payment details left in.
What Glimmerproof makes
What does Glimmerproof actually do?
It turns a photo and a selected fictional story into a short AI-created family video. You choose the idea, title, photo, and privacy setting; the generation service makes the moving result.
Do I need video-editing experience?
No. There is no editing timeline. Each story asks only for the choices and reference photo it needs.
Is the free Magic Planner a video generator?
No. The planner creates written scene and photo notes without an account, upload, token, or generated media. The Create page starts the real video flow.
Privacy and community
Does every video go into the community gallery?
No. Private is selected by default. Publishing requires a separate community choice and confirmation, and you can switch a finished video back to private from your account.
Can anyone see my source photo?
No. Source photos are never shown in the community gallery. They are removed after a terminal result. Abandoned uploads enter automated cleanup at 23 hours, with repeated sweeps if storage is temporarily unavailable.
What can people do with a community video?
Anyone can watch it. Signed-in adults can like it, open the creator's public profile, or report it for privacy, safety, impersonation, or harassment review. High-risk reports hide the public stream while an operator decides whether to restore or remove it. Private videos and source photos remain inaccessible.
Tokens, failures, and payments
How many tokens does a video cost?
One current standard video costs one token. If longer or more expensive formats are added later, their cost must be shown before a user starts them.
When is the token used?
It is reserved when the video starts and consumed only when a signed, validated MP4 delivery is recorded. The account ledger shows both steps.
What if generation fails?
A technical rejection, delivery failure, terminal provider failure, queue failure, or two-hour timeout releases the reservation. The token returns automatically.
What if a delivered video is not what I expected?
An automatic token return covers jobs that do not reach validated delivery. A delivered video uses the token; quality or content concerns go through support so the result and provider record can be reviewed instead of creating an abusable automatic refund button.
Do tokens prevent chargebacks?
No. Cardholders can still dispute a pack purchase through their bank. Stripe events, purchases, and token movements stay linked so the account can be reconciled without inventing a second payment record.
What happens to tokens after a card refund?
A full pack refund reverses that pack's token grant. A partial refund reverses the proportional number of pack tokens, rounded up to a whole token. Refund and dispute events are replayable and idempotent, so reordered webhooks cannot grant or restore tokens twice.
Accounts and safe use
Who can create an account?
An adult age 18 or older must create and operate the account and authorize every upload, including any image of a minor.
What photos are not allowed?
Do not upload public figures for impersonation, intimate or exploitative content, a sleeping person, material you do not have permission to use, or anything intended to deceive or harm someone.
Can I change my password?
Yes. The account page includes a password-change control. If you are signed out, request a one-hour reset link from the sign-in page; completing it revokes the account's existing sessions.
